Friday's Letters!

Dear husband, You and Leo were so cute sleeping and snuggling together this morning while I got ready for work. Leaving you both was so hard. I can't wait for you to get home from work so that we can snuggle. I also can't wait for the weekend so that we can actually spend time together. I love you so much and I am thankful for everything that you do for me. Dear Leo, Thanks for being such a good boy and not messing with the tree even though you ran off with daddy's The Dark Knight Rises ornament tonight. Dear laundry, I really DO NOT feel like folding you after I'm finished with this post, but I can' t just sit here and let you get all wrinkled and such. Dear weekend, I am really looking forward to you because I can spend time with my very handsome husband and watch the Ravens kick some Steeler booty. Dear December, I can't believe that you will be here tomorrow. You are one of my favorite months because of our anniversary and the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Erica, I am so glad that you and baby Austyn are doing so well. I can't wait to see you at Christmas time and see that baby bump. Dear Brooke, I can't wait for February when we go dress hunting. I am so excited about the wedding and I can't wait to be a part of your special day. Thank you for asking me to be a bridesmaid.

Wordless Wednesday!

Day Twenty-eight: Something that stresses you out!

Right now, there are SO many things that stress me out that I cannot just pin point one thing. I think that life just stresses me out in general, which I'm sure is the same for many people. I mean I am really blessed and I really do not want to complain about anything in my life, but I am just so stressed and exhausted ALL THE TIME! Sometimes I just want to scream at the top of my lungs or take up boxing just so I can punch things. I'm surprised I don't have a stress ball with me at all times. I am stressed about money, STILL not being able to find the right full time position let alone start my career, whether or not to go back to school to get my Masters, when to start our family, whether we are going to continue to stay in Virginia or get stationed in a new state, and a billion other things. I am just a natural worry wart, so it is hard to not let things stress me out. I just need to learn to breath, be more optimistic and trust God, and everything will work itself out.

Thanksgiving weekend stuff!

Ahhh I'm finally updating. Thanksgiving was so busy for me since I had my family here, so I didn't have much time for the computer. My mom, her dachshund Sophie and my brothers came down on Wednesday and stayed till Sunday. We had such an awesome time together. I love having company at our house, plus I love having two puppies running around (I may have mentioned that a time or two). I cannot wait until we get another one at some point. It is so much fun to watch Leo and Sophie play together, even though Leo has a hard time being a gentleman sometimes if you know what I mean. We are finally getting him fixed soon, so hopefully we won't have anymore issues when they are together.

Anyways, it felt great to have Thanksgiving dinner at our house. My mother in law made the turkey and ham, my mom made all of the side dishes and I made the pumpkin pie and the chocolate pie which has been in our family for years and years. Everything was so delicious. We ended Thanksgiving with putting all the Christmas decorations up and the tree, which isn't quite finished yet, but I wanted to take a picture anyway. Here are all of the pictures from our Thanksgiving visit.

 My brothers and me.
Kisses for Leo.
No pictures please, mom!
Leo hanging out with his Uncles. He loves them!
 Our Thanksgiving feast. Yumminess!
Jarrett and I at Cinebistro seeing Skyfall with Matt and mom.
Cinebistro is the best movie theater ever. They loved it!
I love this man so much<3
My fish and chips dinner at Cinebistro. So amazing!
Coldstone night with Jarrett and Matt.
Sushi for Sunday lunch before everyone went back to Maryland.
Frozen yogurt after sushi? Yes please!
Our new stockings! $10 at Michael's. Such a deal!
My new reindeer votive holder. I'm in love!
Little end table tree. I have one on both end tables!
Our almost finished tree. All I need to add is some more garland and more keepsake ornaments once I get them out of layaway at the store. Plus, artificial trees need a lot of fluffing, so I am still trying to get the tree the way I want it which has been such a pain to do. I can't wait until it looks perfect!

Weekend stuff!

I had a really great weekend and I hope you all did too. Friday night Rachel and I went to see Breaking Dawn Part Two and it was amazing! We became really sad towards the end because it was the last Twilight movie. Oh well, at least we still have Hunger Games and possibly Fifty Shades of Grey movies even though I'm not quite sure how they are going to make them into movies. Saturday I worked all day and then Jillian and I went and got tacky Christmas sweater stuff for our tacky sweater contest at work. I ended up getting a huge Christmas sweatshirt with a big Christmas tree on it, a turtle neck with holly berries on it and a Christmas vest. I am also going to add a bunch of Christmas broaches and pins to the sweatshirt and vest. It will be hilarious. After we found our sweaters and stuff we went to dinner at Olive Garden. Delicious. Sunday, Jarrett and I went to church then we had the in laws over like usual for Sunday football and dinner together. It was nice to watch our Ravens kick some Steelers butt I must say.

This week will be a great one because of Thanksgiving on Thursday. I am so ready to have my family here and I am even more ready to eat a lot of food on Turkey Day!

Happy week and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Day 19 and 20: Something you miss and nicknames!

Day 19-Something you miss
This is the first house that we lived in when we moved to Maryland. It was also the last house that we lived in as a family before my parents got divorced. All of my best childhood memories are tied up in this house. My best memory is of being able to look outside my bedroom window at Christmas time and seeing all the Christmas lights at the Salisbury park. It was amazing. I still remember it like it was yesterday. If I could go back to any time in my life, it would definitely be this one.

Day 20-Nicknames

Oh there are many, but here are my top five! :)

 1. Katiedid
2. Katerdid
3. Katieboo
4. Kazaboo
5. Katiebell

I'm such a slacker: Day 15, 16, 17 and 18!

Day 15-Bible verse

1 Corinthians 13

New International Version (NIV)
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

While I know it may be very cliche for this to be the bible verse that I post, I can't help it. Way before it was in the movie A Walk to Remember, it was my favorite bible verse. It is my favorite simply for what it says about love. I will eventually get the wall sticker in the above picture too.

Day 16-Dream house
This is exactly what I dream of when it comes to a house. Jarrett and I are not rushing into buying a home at this point because there is no point in it when we could get stationed somewhere different any time now. With our luck, we would buy one and then all of a sudden get orders and we do not want the hassle of selling it or renting it out to someone we don't know.

It is hard though because EVERYONE is buying a home right now and I'm just a tad bit jealous, but by the time it is right for us to buy a home, we'll be able to get exactly what we want. We don't fill the need to rush into anything. Everyone gets married then rushes into buying a house then rushes into having a lot of kids,  and they just rush, rush, rush! What happened to taking your time? When the time is right, we will have our huge house in the country with kids and puppies to fill it with, so until then, I will not worry and no one should worry about what we are doing! :)

Day 17-Something you're looking forward to
I am looking forward to Wednesday at 5 o'clock because that means that my mom, brothers and Sophie bug will be at my house for Thanksgiving. We are having it at our house this year consisting of my mother in law making the turkey and ham, my mom doing all of the sides and me making the pumpkin pie and chocolate pie of which I have never made before. Nevertheless, I am very excited to see my family again, plus I really enjoy having a full house!

Day 18-Something you regret
I honestly regret nothing. Yes, there are a select few things that I wish I could go back and change or even erase from my life, but those select things played a huge part in how my life has turned out. All of the bad things bring us to all the really good things. How boring would life be if everything was perfect all the time? Yeah, pretty boring. I wouldn't change a thing about all of the things that have brought me here today. Not one thing!

New frames for the home!

So, I bought some new frames for our home yesterday. When you get your first place, it takes time for it to look exactly the way you want it to. It takes time and A LOT of money to really make a home a home. I moved in here with my husband a little over two years ago. Jarrett already lived in the apartment when I came along, so needless to say, you could tell a guy lived there. I love my husband to death, but when I moved in, I needed to add my womanly touch to our first place. Slowly but surely, our apartment is starting to look how I want it to, and it is really starting to feel like home. All of these picture frames are also from Hallmark!

The top left and right picture frames are the newer ones.
I love them because I was finally able to put some wedding pictures up of our whole family.
I want to eventually grow this wall even more with pictures
This frame is called "Life's Little Instructions" and I LOVE it so much!
I put it on the wall at the end of our stairs. It looks perfect there.
This canvas picture is from the "Tree of Life" collection.
It is a beautiful collection that basically talks about life, love and dreams.
These three are Disney pictures with quotes on them.
We have a ton of Disney stuff at the store and it is all adorable.
I have a tendency to buy pictures and wall art that have sayings and inspirational quotes on them.
I think it is just nice to surround yourself and your loved ones with inspiring art all around the house.

Although I am nowhere near finished buying picture frames for our home, I am so happy with how everything has turned out so far. I wish we had all the money in the world to just go out and furnish our home completely from top to bottom, but I know that within time, we will be able to get all the things that our home needs to look its best.
